Bantham Beach is a stunning sandy beach in south Devon, backed by dunes and meadows, part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideal for families, it offers excellent swimming, bodyboarding, and rock pooling. The beach is lifeguarded in summer, and there are gentle slopes making it easy for kids.
- Facilities: seasonal café, toilets, and surf hire. Parking is available (pay and display, limited). Dogs are banned from Easter to October (10am-6pm) on the main beach, but allowed elsewhere.
- Nearby: the South West Coast Path offers great walks; the village of Bantham has a pub and a shop.
- Practical tips: arrive early in peak season to secure parking; check tide times as the beach nearly disappears at high tide. Sun shelter is advisable as shade is limited.
