Kilkenny Garden Trail

The Kilkenny Garden Trail is a self-guided walking route that connects several historic gardens and green spaces in Kilkenny city. It includes highlights such as the Rothe House & Garden (a 17th-century merchant's townhouse with a restored garden), the medieval gardens at St. Canice's Cathedral, the riverside walks along the Nore, and the extensive parklands of Kilkenny Castle. Suitable for all ages, with plenty of open space for kids to run. Many gardens are free to enter, though some (like Rothe House) have a small admission fee. Facilities vary by location; public toilets available near the castle. Best enjoyed on a dry day; the trail is entirely outdoor. Strollers are fine on paved paths, but some garden sections have gravel. Allow 2-3 hours for the main loop, plus extra time for play at the castle park.
