Lahinch Beach is a popular family-friendly Blue Flag beach on the west coast of Ireland, known for its wide sandy shore and excellent surfing conditions. The beach is backed by a traditional seaside town with plenty of amenities. Highlights: Safe swimming areas with lifeguards (summer), gentle waves for beginner surfers, rock pools to explore at low tide, and a large grassy promenade ideal for picnics. Nearby attractions include the Lahinch Golf Club and the Cliffs of Moher. Ages: Suitable for all ages; toddlers enjoy paddling and sand play, older kids and teens love surfing lessons (available from local surf schools). Facilities: Public toilets, changing rooms, showers, play area, cafes, restaurants, and parking (paid during summer). Wheelchair accessible via boardwalk. Practical Tips: Check tide times for safe swimming; the beach can get busy in July/August. Bring sun protection even on cloudy days as UV reflection off sand and water is strong.
