Malahide Castle and Gardens

A stunning medieval castle set on 260 acres of parkland, with both indoor and outdoor attractions that appeal to families. The castle itself offers guided tours of its richly decorated rooms, including the Great Hall and bedrooms, which older children (6+) will enjoy, especially with stories of ghosts and history. The highlight for younger kids is the large playground with swings, slides, and climbing frames, plus the massive gardens with lawns, a walled garden, and a butterfly house. Families can picnic on the grounds or visit the on-site café. Practical: castle tours run every 30 minutes, last about 35 mins; booking recommended in peak season.
