Curraghmore Estate, the home of the de la Poer family for over 800 years, offers a fantastic day out for families in County Waterford. The estate features beautiful walled gardens, ancient woodlands, and a stunning lake, all set within one of Ireland's largest private demesnes. Children will love the dedicated play area and the magical fairy trail that winds through the woods, complete with tiny doors and whimsical decorations. The estate also has a charming café serving homemade treats and light lunches, plus picnic tables dotted around the grounds.

Highlights for families:
Fairy trail with miniature houses and hidden treasures
Well-equipped playground with swings, slides, and climbing frames
Walled garden with colourful flowers and a sensory section
Woodland walks suitable for buggies and young children
Free entry to gardens and grounds (parking free as well)
Baby-changing facilities available in the café

The estate is largely outdoor, so it's best enjoyed on a dry day. Paths are mostly gravel or grass; sturdy shoes or wellies are recommended after rain. There are no height or age restrictions on the playground, but the fairy trail is especially magical for ages 2–8. Dogs on leads are welcome. The café has high chairs and a children's menu. Overall, Curraghmore offers a relaxed, affordable family outing with plenty of space to explore.
