A scenic upland nature reserve in the Galtee Mountains, offering a network of waymarked walking trails through native woodland, grassland, and heath. Highlights include the 'Slievenamuck' ridge walk with panoramic views, a riverside loop, and abundant wildlife (deer, birds, butterflies). Family-friendly trails: short loop (1km) suitable for buggies, moderate 3km trails for older kids, and longer hikes for teens. Facilities: free car park, picnic tables, information boards, no café or toilets on site (nearest in Ballylanders or Galbally). Best for ages 4+; toddlers in carriers on shorter paths. No playground, but natural play (streams, logs). Practical tips: wear sturdy shoes, bring snacks and water, check weather as paths can be muddy. Dogs on leads welcome.
