The enormous seated Buddha gives children a striking landmark to discover in the hills of Ngong Ping. The climb reveals the statue gradually and rewards an unhurried ascent with wide views over the surrounding landscape.
There are 268 steps to the statue, so plan around your children’s stamina and avoid promising a buggy route to the top. Check Ngong Ping transport carefully: the cable car is suspended 8–18 September 2026.
